About

DAMShady was a business that I and three other people came up with in order to fulfill a term long project for one of my business classes.

The project was to take a given starting budget and double it by the end of the term, either by selling a product or service around campus, in order to donate final budget to South American business owners in order to help them get a head start, since many are struggling to stay in business.

My team decided on selling Oregon State themed shades, since it was spring term and getting sunnier out.  We would sell them to students around campus, places like the MU and dorms, and Beaver fans before baseball games.

I was in charge of the finances, deciding how much we should and had to sell our product for, how much it would cost to purchase product, and if we would be able to fulfill the assignment of doubling the budget.  Unfortunately, our starting budget was not enough to make the initial order of products, so we had to ask the professor for a small donation in order to make our initial purchase.  However, after we got the small donation, we were able to make the order and sell all our product and double our original given budget.

I learned a lot about how businesses that sell products work, how to manage a budget to stay on track, and about working in a team and starting a business.

Below are a few documents that exemplify some of my responsibilities and tasks I had while working on this project.
