Increasing Targets Omni-Channel Presence - Marketing class

Marketing Coordinator

  • Worked with team to come up with and execute the acquisition, implementation, an marketing for Target

    • Decided on the buying of Blue Apron which would be integrated into targets apps, website, and in-stores​

  • Did research on current both companies current target markets in orer to decide best approach to integrate companies​

  • Came up with several campaign ideas and omni prsence markeing tactics

    • unitizing Blue Aprons website into Targets website by adding a tab​

    • Integrating into Targets app, by adding a menu tab

    • Encouraged the use of Target REDCard with discounts and subscriptions if used or signed up

    • Introduction of Blue Apron boxes into CityTargets for quick access and easy dinners

Managing a Product Line and Merchandising - Planning and Buying class

​Buyer/Merchandiser

  • Had to review past season data in order to decide what kind and how much of certain styles to buy for an upcoming season, and change decisions based on location of certain stores

  • Had a given budget, and a certain mark-up potential that I had to meet, as well as certain quantities for different stores based on average sales

Textiles Understanding and Testing

  • Learned about the characteristics of altering textiles, based on:

    • Fiber content​

    • Yarn style

    • Weave/Knit pattern

  • Learned about the fabric characteristics, based on:

    • Durablility​

    • Heat retention

    • Wickability

    • Hand

    • Drape

    • Pilling

    • Etc.

  • Learned how to test for certain characteristics, and in order to identify fabrics in unmarked

  • Used this information to decide on what is best for either apparel or furniture pieces, based on the use of the product, customer expectations, and price points

    • Understanding room layout

    • How interior design affects human emotion and interaction

    • How humans can be manipulated by interior design and architecture

    • Brief history of interior design and architecture over the years
